Snag Chat Trailer
#SnagChat, City Mission's mobile BBQ trailer, brings smiles, support and sizzle sausages to Launceston's suburbs and surrounding towns. Our friendly volunteers provide a free BBQ and drinks; sparking conversations with individuals, children, and families.
Utilising the delicious aroma of a cooked snag, #SnagChat provides a vital lifeline for people who may be isolated and in need of a chat. #SnagChat creates a positive community space where people can feel they belong, while enjoying good food, company and conversation.
In addition to the immediate support of the #SnagChat BBQ, we also distribute emergency supplies such as blankets, clothes, and food, while also connecting people with crucial services. Last year our team attended 175 events, serving over 15,000 people, including nearly 10,000 children.
#SnagChat collaborates with many like-minded local organisations such as PCYC, Northern Suburbs Community Centre, local schools, George Town Neighbourhood House, City of Launceston Council, local churches, Scripture Union, Vinnies, Healthy Tasmania, local playgroups and many others.
You are welcome to join us every Thursday and Friday night in Civic Square for good company, conversation, and a snag!
