Making a Lasting Impact

City Mission’s Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Outcomes Project commenced during the first half of 2024 and aims to understand the economic value of our social services and recycling activities, to demonstrate to stakeholders, partners and funders the systemic benefits City Mission delivers to the community.

As a further commitment to ensure we maintain our focus on achieving lasting positive outcomes, City Mission has developed Organisational Social Impact Outcomes Objectives across all of our services, supported by the work of Social Ventures Australia.

To help ensure City Mission’s impact is on the desired scale, a number of social impact outcomes have been put in place to assist the measurement of this impact. These social impact outcomes are defined as follows:

  • Improved mental and physical health

  • Improved education and economic participation

  • Increased resilience, self-confidence and sense of hope in the future

  • Improved family, social and community connectedness

  • Safe, secure, and affordable housing

  • More sustainable communities

  • Sustainable organisation known for its impact, culture, capability, and influence; an exemplar of God’s love in action

We have developed tools for measuring these outcomes and capturing this data to help us in achieving these identified objectives.
