Safeguarding Children and Youth

City Mission is unwavering in its commitment to the rights of all children and young people, ensuring they are protected from abuse and neglect and can grow up feeling safe, nurtured, and hopeful for the future.

City Mission adheres to best practice in relation to safeguarding children and holds evidence-based national Certification. In addition, we follow the principles and guidelines outlined in the Tasmanian Child and Youth Safe Organisations Framework, further reinforcing our dedication to creating safe and supportive environments for all children and young people.

To protect children from harm and to promote their safety and wellbeing, City Mission is committed to fulfilling its moral, ethical, professional, and legal responsibilities.  This commitment applies to all City Mission staff and volunteers across all service areas. We prioritise swift and appropriate action to ensure the safety of any child or young person currently at risk of harm from abuse or neglect.

To support this, City Mission has adopted and approved the following policies, procedures, and guiding documents, which underpin our efforts to safeguard children and young people effectively.
