Federal Governments Growing Regions Program $11 Million investment

City Mission’s Launceston Community Precinct: Housing, Health and Community Services Hub wins support from Federal Government.

With the increasing need for a community services precinct and infill social & affordable housing in Launceston, City Mission CEO Stephen Brown expressed his heartfelt gratitude that the City Mission Launceston Community Precinct development has received support ($11 Million) from the Federal Government.

The Hon Catherine King MP, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government (the Minister), as the decision-maker for the Growing Regions Program has approved funding up to $11,000,000 (GST exclusive) to the Launceston City Mission

“This integrated housing space, healthcare and community services hub will significantly enlarge capacity in the City of Launceston to provide care and accommodation for families and individuals experiencing homelessness and cost of living pressures,” said City Mission CEO, Stephen Brown.

“The vision for the precinct is to create a welcoming and safe space for people that will incorporate housing units, a café, retail space, a health and medical hub, emergency food and financial relief and access to various service providers with a focus on innovative social services to the community. It will be a vital infrastructure for our city and benefit the community greatly," said Stephen.
